He Provides ~ GIU Day 2

For my Day Two with Unity Stamps, Growing in Unity, I am sharing another one of my favorite scriptures.  This one is from Isaiah 58:11,

The Lord promises to guide you always, satisfy your needs in a difficult situation, and strengthen you, so that you will be like a well-watered garden, a spring whose waters never fail.

For this page from my Bible Journaling, I've used Unity Stamps, He Provides by artist Angie Blom, with this beautiful flower bouquet and the shortened version of the scripture.

Today's technique is stamping on Vellum and coloring with Copic markers.

I stamped the flower image on the vellum using the Misti and carefully set it aside to dry for several hours. When I was ready to color the image, I carefully colored on the BACK of the image with the Copics.  I colored with slightly darker colors than normal so they will show through and also colored fairly quickly as the color doesn't have the paper grain to absorb into, thus they dry quickly.   It will look a little blotchy on the back but quite stunning on the front side.

Next I used DoCrafts Xcut Die Large Nesting Door Plate Die for the flowers and I stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine Clair Glamorous (Deep Pink) and die cut using Spellbinders Label 56. Next I proceeded with adding these on the page and masking them to add the background.  Once secured with book binding glue, I used my 'home made version' of the Art Impression page protector along with the Door Plate die to cover the scriptures and the vellum flowers.

For the stenciled background, I selected the Starlite Diamond slimline stencil and used Distressed Oxides Mowed Lawn and Old Paper.   I also used the edge of the page protector as a guide to add the vertical strip of washi tape.  When all the masking was removed, then I added the die cut Cross at both locations of the scripture and underscored the scripture also with a gel pen.

I hope you enjoyed learning how this page was created.  I can't wait to do another vellum stamping and back side coloring!   Hope you'll try this technique too!

Thanks for stopping by today too, especially if you're new and from the Unity Stamps site.  I'd love for you to start following me also. Don't forget to comment for your chance to win one of the two Unity Stamp prizes.

I Can Do All Things ~ GIU Day 1

For my 2025 week with Growing in Unity, I decided to share with you several ways to use Unity stamps in Bible Journaling.  I must start by saying I am new to this project and learning as I go through each page.  Like our card making and many other crafts, there is no right or wrong way to do this art, it is driven by what your heart feels is right for you.

My Bible is a very large spiral bound version with wide margins, made for journaling art.  I've referenced it below under the Products section. For me, I prefer to leave the scriptures visible for the most part, although this is an art Bible, not the Bible I use for reading or worship at church.

Day One ~ I'm starting the week with my favorite scripture ~ Philippians 4:13, and Unity Stamps Maria Girl by Angie Blom.  Here's the finished page and then a little about the steps I took to make this page.

If you don't know my work, I am a Copic colorist and enjoy coloring daily.  For this design, I simply stamped the beautifully drawn Marie Girl on 110# Neenah cardstock and used Copic markers for coloring.  After fussy cutting her out, I inked the edges with Copic RV95 and set her aside.

I stamped another image and cut out to use as a mask, securing it to the Bible page.  Using the Distressed Oxides referenced below, and a Flower stencil from Stationary Pal, I made the background for the angel to rest in the center of.  Then I added the light pink shade fading from the design to the edges of the page to allow for blending.  I used a very thin line of Lineco Book Binding Glue on the back of the angel and secured her in place of the mask.

The sentiment is from the same package, but wasn't large enough to fit the space needed for this project.  After stamping, I enlarged the image to a square about 2 3/4" and then used the Gina Marie Designs Loopy Square Die for the beautiful edge.  I secured it to the 3" square burgundy cardstock and then added to the page in my Bible.

Thank you for stopping by today, especially those who are here from the Unity Stamps site!  I'd love for you to 'follow' my blog postings if you don't already.

Hope In His Mercy

Today starts a new Blog Challenge on Word Art Wednesday (Week 693-694) and a new sponsor ~ Pretty Pink Posh Stamps.  Our scripture focus for this challenge is from Psalm 147:11.

For my Design Team card I've combined a single stamp from two packages from this sponsor.  I've used the double branch of flowers from their Flourishing Fuchsias set and one of the hummingbirds from their Hummingbird Thanks set.

As with a lot of card makers, the fun part of this card was combining the two sets of images from Pretty Pink Posh.  I colored the image with Copic markers, which are referenced below and added a light Copic BG000 background.

I elected not to use the leaves that are part of the Flourishing Fuchsias set, as I wanted something thinner.  I die cut these from the Penny Black Leaflets set, secured at the base and curled at the outer edge to make them stand out.

After sizing the scripture to fit the card front and printing it, I used My Favorite Things, Label Stax 2 die set for each of the pieces and coordinating fuchsia cardstock.  Next each piece was secured on the green patterned matting background as shown in the photo being sure I left the space between the sets to add the ivory flowered ribbon.  I used the same book binding glue for the ribbon as I do for all my papers and card making. (No wrinkles, doesn't bleed through, extremely strong, etc.)  Lastly I added the different coordinating colors of diamond bling throughout the card.

Be sure to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog to get your free image of this week's scripture from Psalm 147:11.  You simply right click on the image and save to your device.  While there check out the other Design Team card creations and enter yours for a chance to win the sponsor's prize!

Hope if you're visiting here you'll decide to follow my blog and come back regularly.  I enjoy sharing how I make my cards with you.

Have a Colorful Easter

I am back today posting with the Design Team for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps as we take a second look at this month's new images from our Designer Wendy Burns.

The new images for March are Bunny Hugs, Little Sailor, and Little Painter.  My Design card is made using Little Painter in an Easter theme,

After sizing and printing I had fun coloring him using Copic markers and adding a bit of grass at the bottom.  I used the My Favorite Things, Elegant Stitched Stax Die  for the image and the green solid background and secured those two pieces together.

For the card background, I was thrilled to find the glitter striped egg paper!  I added the 1 1/4" strip of multi-colored polka dotted paper also backed in the greed solid cardstock.

After cutting the yellow card base to 5 1/2 " square, I added the layers as shown, securing each one.   I found a font with 'open' letters and printed the sentiment , then colored them in and die cut using the same set as before.  For this piece I backed it with yellow cardstock, added a layer of foam and secured at an angle near the top of the design.  Lastly I added the blue dotted organza at the fold and knotted near the top with a cute metal blue bird glued to the knot.

I hope you will pop over to the All Dressed Up Blog to see the other Design Team Ladies cards and to enter your ADU Image cards for the contest.  I'd love to see what you make.

Beautiful Flower Fairy

All Dressed Up Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge and I've selected the Flower Fairy for my project card.

This is another ADU tall image which I enjoy making the larger cards.  I don't usually use orange but one of my friends has been posting a lot of orange flowers so I decided on this rainy day - orange would be my color of the day!

I used Pink & Main Large Stitched Ovals for the edging and the purple matting.  The marbleized matting is a piece from an old planner book that just happened to go perfect with the dress and flower combinations.  After securing the ovals to the matting I kept trimming and trimming to get the background small enough to fit on the folded orange cardstock.  Before securing the background and image to the base, I added the yellow organza ribbon and then added the bow once the pieces were secured in place.  I decided to wait to add the sentiment until the occasion to use the card came up.

Be sure to visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and enter your cards using the ADU images for your chance to win!  I'd love to see your cards there!

Ready for Spring!

This morning I'm posting with the Design Team from Classic Design Challenge with our sponsor Mirtillamente.  I've used their 'Ready for Spring' image to make this Birthday or just a 'Have a Good Day' card.

For this card I used Copic markers for coloring and the beautiful Spellbinder Fluted Square die for the purple matting.  The yellow printed pattern has little dots randomly throughout but they were tiny and I felt like they couldn't be seen very well.  I added the tiny purple glass-like dots to give the card a little extra sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll visit the Classic Design Challenge and submit your cards there for a chance to win.   Come back soon to see what I'm making!

Riches of His Glory

Today I am posting with the Design Team from Word Art  Wednesday for Weeks 691-692.  Our selected Bible scripture comes from Ephesians 3:16-19 and our sponsor for this challenge is Divinity Designs

Remember on each publication the scripture is available to you for free.  Simply right click and save to your device.

Here's my completed Design Team project card for today.

I decided to use this beautiful background stamp from Our Daily Bread, which is now Divinity Designs.   This stamp is quite large, measuring 4 3/8" wide by 5 5/8" long.  It's so pretty though it's hard to trim it down!

I started by stamping the Crocheted Background with Versa Fine Clair and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Then on the computer I opened the scripture into word and changed the font color to match the aqua background color, then sized it to fit the oval die I had selected for the center of the background.

After die cutting the scripture and securing both pieces to the card base, I added a few coordinating flowers to complete the card design.  I can always send just like this or add a sentiment or bow before sending.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll visit the Word Art Wednesday blog and enter your cards for a chance to win the $25 gift certification to Divinity Designs.

When Your First Love Turns 89

We all know the first guy a girl loves is her Daddy, right?

Again this March 4, I'm one lucky girl to still have mine alive and doing well.  Part of our family gathered this afternoon for lunch to celebrate his 89th and I'd like to share the card I made for him.

I used several different stamp sets, embossing folders and special papers for this wild card that all started with a 'Dad Joke'.

The background is the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday 3D Embossing Folder with blue Distress Oxides, then secured to the card base.  The orange matting is painted and stamped paper that I made following Stamp Camp 2023! It's so perfect for this card!

The Old Man is from My Favorite Things,  Old Friends and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, Dad Jokes.*

*Note: These stamps are really small and I stamped them, scanned and enlarged them to fit my card space.

For the inside, I used a mountain embossing folder and the other part of the orange paper from Stamp Camp for the matting.  The 'sleeping dinosaur is from  Tracy Hey, Hey You Rock and the enlarged sentiment is also from the Lawn Fawn's Dad Jokes.  I completed the card with the coordinating Happy Birthday die cut across the bottom.

Dad always enjoys my card creations ~ but not as much today as he did this ice cream sundae our waitress brought out for him!

Part of our family ~

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been making.

See you soon!

Life is Better With Friends

We never know until it happens, who God has planned for our life paths to cross with.  Some people we meet are merely a shadow passing us, others are briefly part of our lives and a special few impact our lives and remain while our friendships grow stronger.  I'm sure you know the last group are your blessings, your treasured friendships, the ones you are grateful for.

Yesterday was one of my treasured friend's birthday and this is the card I made for her.  I used the digital Hibiscus image from Beccy's Place along with one of the sentiments from the same package.

After positioning the sentiment and sizing the image I printed it on Neenah 110# cardstock.  My favorite part, I colored the image with Copic markers.   When completed I used the Labels 6 Cloud Like Edged Nested Die Set to make the decorative edge, then set this aside.

I used a standard A2 size card base and added the dark green leaf patterned paper matting to the front.  For the next layer I used black cardstock and the Altnew Luxurious Motifs 3D Embossing Folder.  I highlighted the top of the embossing with an Altenew gold pigment ink pad.  Next I secured a layer of foam behind the embossed cardstock.

Before adding the image to the embossed cardstock, I wanted to tie in the gold ink.  I used a Q-tip and lightly dotted the ink randomly around the Hibiscus.  I knew a ribbon would take away from the image, but at this point I wanted something to balance the left side.  I used one of my favorite rolls of washi tape (because of the vertical design) and ran it around the embossing piece from top to bottom and along the edge of the colored image. Lastly I secured these two layers to the center of the card base and over the green matting to complete my card design.

Happy Birthday Kathy!

I hope yesterday was a FABULOUS day that will continue throughout the year!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's on my desk. Come back soon!
